Everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) may be getting together in "Avengers: Infinity War," but someone forgot to invite Marvel's TV characters to the party. Well, that doesn't matter now because they are going to have a get together of their own in "The Defenders."

Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones) usually work alone, and each hero is formidable in his/her own right. But they will have to work together to stop a dangerous villain named Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver).

"Every one of them is following their own trail of bread crumbs, trying to unpack a mystery in New York," showrunner Marco Ramirez told Entertainment Weekly.

Alexandra is a mysterious character, and not much is known about her right now. But Ramirez told Entertainment Weekly that Alexandra was an "utter badass," and she's also "sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous."

The showrunner refuses to reveal any more details, but whatever is going to happen must be huge. "We knew it would take something massive to pull these four characters from their individual worlds to work together," he said.

It's a given that the street-level heroes will struggle initially to work as a unit, but the actors playing the roles seem to be enjoying their time together. "We're all having a blast. We're all excited to be working together," Ritter told Entertainment Weekly in a separate interview.

She also revealed that she has binge-watched her costars' shows before production began to see how they bring their characters to life. "We're all so invested in our characters that everybody just wants everything to be great," she said.

The first season of "The Defenders" hasn't even aired yet, but Ritter said she's all set for season 2. "If they want to do a Defenders 2. I'm in," she stated.

"The Defenders" season 1 will premiere this summer on Netflix.
