'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 release date, spoilers: Sheldon and gang to stay; CBS, cast want more seasons
Despite the rumors if it concluding, "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 may not be the end of the beloved sitcom after all with CBS itself interested for the show to go on for a long while.
"We are very confident that everyone involved wants more 'Big Bang' past year 10," CBS chief Glenn Geller said during the Television Critics Association press tour via Entertainment Weekly.
"I know Warner Bros will make those deals. We'll put it on for as long as everyone wants Big Bang on the air. I hope it lasts forever," he continued.
With that said, it appears that the series will go beyond "The Big Bang Theory" season 10. The cast members have also expressed in the past their willingness to return.
Lead star Jim Parsons, who plays the role of Sheldon Cooper in the sitcom, said in an interview with TVLine earlier this year that he and the rest of the cast will not think twice in signing up for more seasons of "The Big Bang Theory" season 10.
"If the opportunity to go past season 10 came up, I'd be very hard-pressed to tell you who [among the cast] might say no – if anybody would. I wouldn't," Parsons said.
"I'm trying to imagine when an actor in a good situation would go, 'I'm out of here.' I don't think it would be between seasons 10 and 11 – not if things are going well," the actor continued.
Meanwhile, Simon Helberg, who plays the character Howard on in "The Big Bang Theory," also said that a season 11 will likely be greenlit.
He even said via Showbiz411 that "a lot of people will come back and want to come back if asked" and that he will be one of those people.
With all that said, it appears that "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 is just another one of the many seasons the show will have moving forward.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 19 on CBS.
