'The Bachelor' season 21 news update 2016: Luke Pell a frontrunner, says he is 'excited' and will be 'fun' Bachelor
Now that "The Bachelorette" season 12 is over and JoJo Fletcher has found new love, it is time for one of her suitors to get the same chance as well in "The Bachelor" season 21.
With all the talk and speculation, Luke Pell has emerged the frontrunner for this spot as fans on social media are pushing for the war veteran to take on the role.
The self-confessed hopeless romantic has addressed the request of fans for him to lead "The Bachelor" season 21 during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
"I would be excited about it. I've seen firsthand that it worked, going through this whole process with JoJo and I. I was in love with her," the 31-year-old revealed with regards to "The Bachelor" gig.
"And it happened so fast, but it was real at the same time. It was real for us and it was real for me. So, I would be open to it again because I know it works. It's proven," he continued.
In "The Bachelorette" season 12, Pell was eliminated by Fletcher after the hometown dates. The bachelor, who is also a singer, said that he was extremely heartbroken and was anxious.
However, he has always said he is open for new romance again. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said that should he be the star of "The Bachelor" season 21, "hopefully I would be a fun Bachelor."
"That's the part of me [people] didn't get to see on this show. A lot of my stories are so intense and deep about my military background… but I love to have fun," he continued.
Pell has quickly become a fan-favorite in "The Bachelorette" season 12 and THR says that ABC will, as always, likely listen to fans when it comes to choosing the star "The Bachelor" season 21.
Reality Steve, known for his scoop on the ABC reality shows, also thinks Pell could be the guy.
However, Romper says that fans might have to wait until "Bachelor in Paradise" wraps up to see whether Pell got the gig or ABC will go for another star from the said show.
"The Bachelor" season 21 is expected to premiere in January. ABC will unmask the leading man only after the premiere.
