'Pokemon GO' tips, tricks and guide: How to place a Lure in 'Pokemon GO'
Just days after its release, "Pokemon GO" has become so popular that it's virtually impossible to have not heard anything about the much-hyped location-based augmented reality mobile game.
Those who have already been playing "Pokemon GO" would know all about Lure Modules, which are items that players can use to lure Pokemon to specific PokeStops.
For those who are new to the game, here's how Lure Models can be used to collect more Pokemon and to even boost real-life businesses.
Lure Modules can be purchased from the Poke Shop, which is one of the features of the game. Once bought, they can be attached to any PokeStop so that more Pokemon will be attracted to that area.
According to Segment Next, players can even meet and make friends with other players by placing a Lure at a given PokeStop and sharing the benefits of the Lure with others.
It should be noted, however, that Lures will only last for 30 minutes. Because Lures are bought with PokeCoins, which are, in turn, bought with real money, players should think carefully about where to place their Lures.
The first thing players need to do when using a Lure is to make sure that they actually have a Lure in their bag. To do this, open the Map screen in "Pokemon GO." Tap the Poke Ball icon at the bottom of the screen, tap on Items, and scroll down to the Lure Module.
To use a Lure, open up the Map screen again and tap on any PokeStop nearby. Look for the small slot that looks like a white pill above the circular disc and right below the name of the PokeStop — this is the Lure Module slot. Tap on the slot and then tap on the PokeStop Module at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the Lure Module to activate it.
When a Lure Module is activated, confetti rains down around the PokeStop.
iMore noted that business owners can use Lures to get "Pokemon GO" players to visit their shops. Because many PokeStops can be found near establishments such as restaurants, cafes and malls, all a proprietor has to do is to place a Lure Model at the PokeStop closest to his or her business.
He or she can then tempt players even more by offering food or beverages to those playing the game. A sign announcing "PokeStop Inside!" should also do the trick.
