'Pokemon Go' cheats, tips 2016: What to do when you have duplicate Pokemon
"Pokémon Go" has definitely changed the landscape of gaming, and proof of this is the data recently presented by an online publication to show how many users are playing it. It's no wonder, then, that current players, as well as those planning to install it in their smartphones, want to know the best cheats and tips to get them through the game.
According to Recode, about 4.3 million people are playing "Pokémon Go" on their iOS devices while 5.25 million have installed it in their Android devices based on the number of total downloads. So roughly, there are 9.55 million daily users of the game in the U.S. alone. Not included in the figures are active users in other parts of the world, as well as children under the age of 18 who could play a vital role in determining the actual demographic for "Pokémon Go."
Those millions of people actively trying to capture all 151 of the original Pokemon would surely want to find out what they need to do if they catch more than one Pokemon of the same kind. Is it alright to have a handful of Pikachus, Dratinis, or Pidgeys or is have duplicate Pokemon a waste of time?
In a recent report, Bustle said players must capture every Pokemon they find because doing so is an important part of "Pokémon GO" for a number of reasons. For one, capturing a Pokemon gives a player 100 experience point (XP) that may be used to level up.
Moreover, a player gets three candies and 100 points of stardust per specific Pokemon captured. Candies and stardust may be used to evolve a Pokemon to its next form or increase its Combat Power (CP). Making a Pokemon stronger increases a player's chances of taking over the nearest Pokemon Gym.
Having more Pokemon of the same kind also allows a player to "transfer" them to Professor Willow, who in turn will give that player more candies. Players need to keep in mind that candies are important in evolving and leveling up the Pokemon.
Since captured Pokemon cannot be deleted, the best option is to gather those duplicates and transfer them in exchange for candies. That way, players get the most out of the Pokemon they have caught.
