With the NBA 2015-16 season recently concluding and the Cleveland Cavaliers finally winning a championship, the attention now turns to the summer where player movements and trades are going to be the main focus.

Everybody already knows that big names like Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder will be constantly on the headlines, but there are easily new names that could come up and get the spotlight for the meantime.

And this early, rumors have circulated that the Chicago Bulls are trying to shop Derrick Rose and a big market team is looking like an early suitor, the New York Knicks.

After missing out on the playoffs, the Bulls are seriously looking to rebuild. They have a big contract with Rose, but the former No. 1 draft pick of 2008 has not looked like his old self.

Countless injuries have slowed him down and though he is still effective, he is far from the MVP he once was.

Rose has a contract until next season where he is set to earn more than $21 million, and the Bulls are looking to off-load the contract to get new players for a fresh start.

The Knicks are seemingly interested in Rose as they are also continuing to rebuild. With Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis seemingly around for a few more years, adding a former MVP in the guard spot might be the missing piece for them to be a force.

Rose has averaged 19.7 points per game in his career, but despite only being 27 he has undergone several surgeries on his knees that have clearly affected him.

Last season, he averaged 16.4 points per game and shot around 43 percent from the field, his best in the last three seasons.

He may still have some left in him and the Knicks appear to be willing to pay the price to find out. As Rose is also looking for a fresh start, a change of scenery might be a good idea for the point guard.
