GoPro Hero 5 release date news update: Action camera's launch pushed later this year, to launch alongside Drone Karma?
Adventure seekers and gadget enthusiasts are all eagerly awaiting news on the release of the GoPro Hero 5 ever since the idea of this latest iteration of the GoPro line of action cameras was explored. However, until now, the company hasn't confirmed when this new line would come out.
It's worth noting, though, that the production of GoPro Hero 5 is inevitable and necessary if the company wants to stay in business. There are rumors that stock prices for GoPro have slowed down since 2015, so coming up with the latest version could be the company's only hope.
So far, what people know about the GoPro Hero 5 is that its target market will be the athletic community, perhaps adventure and thrill seekers and sports enthusiasts. It also promises to be the "most connected and convenient" action camera. Moreover, while it is touted as the most updated version of the GoPro line, it would feature a more streamlined look compared to earlier versions. As it promises to be "convenient," it is highly likely that its size would be sufficient for athletes to carry around.
There are also speculations that the release of the GoPro Hero 5 is being delayed so that it can be released alongside the GoPro Drone Karma as a bundle. GoPro is yet to confirm if there is truth to said rumor.
Nevertheless, a statement published on The Verge seemed to corroborate that rumor when it said that latest lineup of products for GoPro would include an action camera, a drone, and a spherical camera. Obviously, the action camera would have to be the GoPro Hero 5 while the drone would refer to the GoPro Drone Karma. It remains to be seen if there really is a spherical camera that would be released together with the two.
There are talks that the release of the Drone Karma has apparently been pushed back to the holidays instead of the first half of the year. On the other hand, it appears that new features are being added to the GoPro Hero 5, thereby causing the delay in launch. It seems that GoPro wants to make sure that all issues are fixed before the actual launch.
Thus, there really is a big possibility that the two devices would be launched together either in November or December. At any rate, stay tuned for more updates on the release of the GoPro Hero 5.
