Duggar Family news update: Jessa Duggar pregnant, Ben Seewald and Jessa announce baby no. 2

The Duggar family is about to get even bigger as Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are having a second child. The couple made it official in social media.

"We are overjoyed to announce that Spurgeon has a new title in life as 'big brother'! We are so thankful that God is adding to our family," the couple wrote on their family blog.

"2017 is shaping up to be a wonderful year already and we know Spurgeon will do a great job in his new role. Having Spurgeon has been such a wonderful blessing and we cannot wait to see the face of this sweet new baby (or babies!)," the pair added.

The announcement was made along with a photo of the happy family with Seewald holding up a sign that says "Doubling the love. Feb 2017," referring to the due date of the baby.

Duggar and Seewald have always wanted to expand their family, not just by having kids but also through adoption, which they have been seriously considering after their marriage.

The baby announcement also could not come at a better at a time, as it follows Duggar's revelation about telling her husband that she does not want to get pregnant again.

"I was teasing him when I was in labor—I don't really think I was teasing, actually, I told him while I was in labor," Duggar recalled in a People interview.

She remembered telling Seewald, "Babe, we are not having ANY more kids after this. We are ADOPTING all the rest." She added that she was convinced they are "only adopting from here on out."

"Looking back, it was well worth it and we will have more kids," she said. And judging by the baby number two bombshell, Duggar is definitely not over with baby bumps.

Of course, no one could be happier about the news than the Duggar parents Michelle and Jim Bob, who are excited about welcoming their seventh grandchild.

"Every child is a precious gift from God! We are so excited about another grandchild!" the pair wrote on the official Duggar family Facebook page.
