'Dragon Ball Super' episodes 73, 74 spoilers: Watagash to awaken Gohan's Super Saiyan form?
Gohan's stint as the Great Saiyaman continues beyond the cameras in the next episode of "Dragon Ball Super."
At the end of the previous episode, Gohan, disguised as the Great Saiyaman, came face-to-face with the elite but dangerously clumsy galactic patrolman, Jaco, who accused him of harboring the fugitive alien parasite, Watagash. Jaco fired his weapons at the Great Saiyaman with the intention of vaporizing his escaped prisoner.
But this encounter is just a prelude to a much greater threat coming Gohan's way when Watagash finds itself a perfect new host in the form of popular actor, Barry Kahn. Barry resents Gohan the stuntman for outclassing him in his own movie. Add this to Watagash's naturally destructive nature, and Gohan will surely be in for one epic fight that tests his full strength as a half-human, half-Saiyan hybrid.
The promo for the next episode also shows Barry, who is now under Watagash's full control, barging into Gohan's house and threatening his family. Will this finally awaken Gohan's will to fight and gear him up for the upcoming "Universe Survival" arc?
Fans of the Japanese anime series have been awaiting Gohan's return to form ever since it was presumably teased in the final episode of the "Future Trunks" arc when the mild-mannered Saiyan was featured in what looked to be his Mystic form.
And since these filler episodes are supposed to serve as an introductory prologue for the characters taking part in Zen-Oh's Omniverse Tournament, fans are hoping that Gohan's dormant Super Saiyan form will finally be re-awakened, especially since it has been noted that in the brief scene featuring Gohan and Barry's fight in space, one of the energies emitted by the fighters possessed the familiar glow of a Super Saiyan.
How will Gohan avert this new threat to both Earth and his family? Will he fight as the Great Saiyaman or as his stronger, more powerful self?
"Dragon Ball Super" episode 74 titled "For the Ones He Loves! The Unbeatable Great Saiyaman!!" airs on Sunday, Jan. 15, at 9 a.m. JST on Fuji TV.
