'Destiny: Rise of Iron' release date, price revealed; new DLC to outdo 'The Taken King'
"Destiny" remains one of the most popular games to date, and fans are constantly on forums and message boards discussing the game. Despite being already out for nearly two years, people are still very excited when news updates and downloadable contents are released.
Set to release on Sept. 20, "Destiny: Rise of Iron" will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The first-person shooter game will feature something new with their latest expansion to keep their fans on their toes.
Along with rumors of a possible "Destiny 2" game, this DLC should keep them happily entertained as the development of the sequel continues.
Already with "The Taken King" as the biggest DLC for the game, many fans believe that maybe it was time for a sequel for the entire game. This gave rise to speculations on when "Destiny 2" will be made available.
However, with this new DLC on the way, then Activision revealed their timeline for the franchise.
According to a report from PC Advisor, game developer Activision talked about their plans for the "Destiny" game franchise.
"Activision Publishing, along with its partners at Bungie, expects to bring a large new expansion to Destiny in 2016 and to release a full game sequel in 2017," the company said.
The new downloadable content is said to surprise "Destiny" fans as it will outdo the previous DLC, "The Taken King," with its sheer size and playability.
Regarding the DLC's pre-orders and pricing, PC Advisor also has an estimate on how much the expansion will cost, only basing it on the past releases of the game.
According to them, it should still be around the £39.99 price range, or roughly $58 in the U.S.
