DC's 'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 2 air date, news, spoilers: More heroes rumored to make comeback
The upcoming second season of DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" will feature the comeback of a few heroes introduced in Season 1. Just recently, there are rumors suggesting the return of two characters as the story of the series revisits the land of Egypt.
Yibada reported that "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 will feature the characters of Hawkman and Hawkgirl. The rumor about their return sparked when the TV show's co-creator Marc Guggenheim tweeted a photo of an Egyptian hieroglyphs illustrations that features the Wave Rider. It is possible that the remaining "Legends" members will land in Ancient Egypt and meet their former teammates. Both Hawkman and Hawkgirl have made the decision to leave the team and go on with their lives, especially that they were successful in defeating Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).
With hints of Egyptian folklore in the recent teasers, it is possible that the two heroes will appear in the show once again. There are speculations that the team has a business to deal with in Egypt and they will meet the early incarnations of Carter Hall (Falk Hentschel) and Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee), also known as Prince Khufu and Priestess Chay-Ara, respectively.
As for the main plot of Season 2, it was reported that Season 2 will show the drastic outcome of the Oculus explosion in the first season. The story of the new season will pick up six months after that event, with the Legends now the new Time Masters Council. However, there will also be some changes in the characters of Sara Lance and Mick Rory, who lost their loved ones in the Season 1 finale. Specifically, Sara is mourning the death of her sister Laurel Lance, also known as Black Canary. Laurel was killed by Damien Darhk in "Arrow" Season 4.
In an interview with Collider, Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim said that Sara, or White Canary, will be affected in some way as she is emotionally pre-occupied by revenge. In the end, this may also begin to affect her position as the one in charge in the Wave Riders.
"Sara has a secret agenda that relates to the death of her sister on Arrow last year," Guggenheim said.
Mick Rory, on the other hand, will need to decide on his new allegiance after Captain Cold's death. He was deemed as the guy for being associated with the first season's primary villain. However, things will change now that Captain Cold is dead.
"Rory is basically just trying to white-knuckle his way through the whole experience. He cannot, for the life of himself, figure out what he's doing, as a member of a superhero team," Guggenheim revealed. "This year, we want him to fall in love with someone and be like, 'What are feelings?!'"
