'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' DLC 4 release date: Final DLC promises epic ending
The fourth downloadable content (DLC) for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will tie all loose ends in the Zombie storyline, which began in "Call of Duty: World at War" in 2008.
In an interview with GameSpot, executive producer Jason Blundell revealed that the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC 4 will answer the questions gamers had by the end of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2."
Blundell recalled the mysterious video at the end of the game, which sees Samantha and a boy named Edward playing with zombie toys. They are summoned by Max to the basement.
The characters then say: "I wish our heroes in our stories were real" and the clip fades to black, thus giving birth to a mystery in the minds of fans. Almost a decade later, fans will finally get an answer to "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC 4.
"I've still technically to this day not answered that question of what that was and why that was there. That will be answered by the end of DLC 4. I believe that the ending of DLC 4 will spark emotion in the players, which is my goal," Blundell said.
"It's not out of the desire for trolling, as people say. No, what I want to do is have you have complex and differing thoughts on what you've experienced and what your view is. I hope that's what we generate when we come to the end of DLC 4," he continued.
With that said, it appears that fans can truly expect the Zombie storyline to finally make complete sense in "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC 4.
Blundell also spoke about how secretive the process is when it comes to stitching together the mode and story. This goes to show that the executive producer does have things he'd like to keep a secret about the game.
This, of course, will change when "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC 4 releases later this year.
