Air Jordan 2 Retro Low 'UNC' release date, specs news: Bright & vibrant sneakers on the way
Summer is one of the Jordan Brand's favorite times of the year as they can release bright and vibrant colorways of their timeless silhouettes.
And one of the things that have people breaking their necks in excitement is the Air Jordan 2 Low "UNC."
Its release date, June 11, is shaping up to be one of the most sought-after days for sneakerheads as three big releases are slated on this day.
Undoubtedly making the most noise is Adidas' Yeezy Boost 750 "Gum Sole" which takes after the design of musician Kanye West, but the Jordan Brand is not going to bow down easily with their pairs.
In fact, they are slated to release two pairs on this day, both sporting similar colorways that commemorate Michael Jordan's alma mater, the University of North Carolina.
One is the Air Jordan 9 Low "Pantone," and the other is this Air Jordan 2 Low "UNC," which sports a more predominantly white upper.
The shoe has a pebbled upper that helps give the shoe a different look and texture, while hits of University Blue and Midnight Navy give the shoe a great contrast.
On the white tongue rests the classic Air Jordan logo, while the insole is orange for that slight contrast and break from the colorway.
The shoe's bottom is the vintage Air Jordan 2 sole with the OG Nike label with the size on white as it is surrounded by both shades of blue to finish that Tar Heels feel.
With the Lows continuing to roll out this year, the Air Jordan 2 may be one of the most sought after in the market. And for a price of $160, expect many who aren't able to get the other releases of the day to help set these sneakers fly off the shelves.
