Source Claims Ferguson Cop Was 'Badly Beaten' By Michael Brown Before Shooting

New details emerging from the death of a teenager in Ferguson, Missouri indicate police officer Darren Wilson was allegedly "badly beaten" before he fatally shot 18-year-old Michael Brown on August 9.

A source close to the incident told Fox News this week that Wilson had been pushed into his cop car by Brown and "badly beaten." Only after his beating did Wilson reportedly shoot Brown six times. The source added to Fox News that Wilson reportedly suffered a bone fracture near one of his eyes and was nearly unconscious when Brown had allegedly finished beating him.

"The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side. He was beaten very severely," the high-ranking source told Fox.

The incident began when Wilson was reportedly responding to a robbery at a convenience store, and ordered Brown and his friend to get out of the middle of the road because they were blocking traffic. "They ignored him and the officer started to get out of the car to tell them to move. They shoved him right back in, that's when Michael Brown leans in and starts beating Officer Wilson in the head and the face," the source added.

The fatal shooting of Brown has resulted in weeks of peaceful protests and some riots in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson. While police maintain that there was a scuffle between Brown and Wilson before the teen was killed, some witnesses argue that Brown had been surrendering when he was fatally shot by Wilson.

The recent incident has brought back memories to the 2012 death of Trayvon Martin, a Florida teen who was fatally shot by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman even though he had been unarmed. Brown was also unarmed at the time of his death.
