Jill Duggar And Husband Want Children To Have Same Christian Values
Jill Duggar and her newlywed husband Derick Dillard said in a recent interview that they want to pass on their Christian-influenced upbringing to their child, who is due in March.
The couple, who got married earlier in 2014, recently announced that they are expecting their first child together. Dillard, age 25, told The Christian Post in a recent interview that he and Jill hope to instill strong Christian values in their child as he or she continues to grow. The couple is expected to reveal the sex of their child on one of the episodes of their TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting."
"Well, ultimately, we want to be an example for them. For a daughter, I want to show her how a man should treat her, just like Jill's dad did for her," Derick told CP in a recent interview. "And just be the best dad I can be to both my sons and daughters and really purpose to teach them the Word of God early on and pray that they will come to the Lord early in life. And helping them be open, not afraid to come to us about anything."
"Both of our parents have had the hearts of their children, knowing that they can come to them and talk about anything," Jill continued. "And then, just really leading by example and purposing to have a Godly marriage and one that is focused on the Lord. And hopefully the children will learn to fear God and be a servant of all."
Jill and Derick married back in June, and announced her pregnancy just two months after. Her sister, Jessa Duggar, also recently announced that she is engaged to boyfriend of 11 months Ben Seewald.
