Amanda Bynes Arrested For DUI
Celebrity Amanda Bynes has reportedly been arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles, California. The actress is still on probation for a 2012 DUI charge.
Police reportedly determined 28-year-old Bynes was under the influence in the early hours of Sunday when officers said she stopped her car in the middle of an intersection in Van Nuys, California.
The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement that authorities "determined [Bynes] was under the influence of a controlled substance" after she was "given a series of field sobriety tests, which she was unable to complete."
The actress was then taken to a local police station and police determined that she was under the influence of a controlled substance, although they did not list what substance it was. Bynes was released later Sunday after she posted a $15,000 bail.
Bynes reportedly had a mental breakdown that began in 2012 and included several run-ins with the law, including when she clipped the side of a California Highway Patrol car in 2012 while driving under the influence. In 2013, Bynes began posting offensive tweets that called other celebrities "ugly" and included revealing photos of herself.
The 28-year-old starlet was forced into involuntarily psychiatric treatment after she reportedly started a small fire in the driveway of her neighbors' home in California. She also reportedly threw a bong out of her New York City apartment when police were responding to disturbance reports.
Bynes is now reportedly in the care of her parents. A call by the Associated Press to Bynes' rep seeking comment was not immediately returned.
